Self-harming Behaviour

Self-harm is a technique used by people who feel overwhelmed by their difficult emotions and unable to manage them. There are many forms of self-harm, including cutting parts of one’s body, taking too many tablets, burning parts of the body amongst others. The sufferer deliberately causes harm to him or herself in order to feel physical pain rather than emotional pain.

Our specialist Clinical Psychologists understand how desperate someone must feel to harm themselves. We are experienced in dealing with ways of managing self-harm and in helping our clients to understand the underlying cause of self harm.
