Specific Phobia

A specific phobia can be to anything, for example, spiders, open spaces, closed spaces, heights, balloons, and cats amongst others.

It causes the sufferer to have an intense anxiety reaction when thinking about or when close to the specific phobia. The reaction can include heart palpitations; dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, and butterflies in the stomach.

It can also cause sufferers to reduce their activities in order not come into contact with the specific phobia – something which can have a dramatic impact on their lives and on the lives of their family and friends.

Twenty20 Psychology offers a range of therapies which can successfully treat specific phobias.
